Saturday night saw Ring of Honor Women’s Champion Rok-C defend her title for the first time since capturing it in the finals of the Women’s Championship Tournament nearly three weeks ago. The match, taking place at New Texas Pro Wrestling’s ‘Olajuwon’ event, saw the brand-new titleholder take on one of independent wrestling’s biggest stars, Killer Kelly. Prior to Saturday, many would have listed Kelly as a dream opponent for Rok-C to defend her title against.
With that name now off the list, however, I asked the champ about some other individuals she’d like to step across the squared circle from.
“I’m going to make you exclude the people you’ve talked about before, whether it’s Deonna [Purrazzo], whether it’s Sumie [Sukai], or anybody in between,” I commented. “Is there anybody that you particularly want to defend the championship against? You’ve wrestled, again, even outside of the tournament, individuals like Willow Nightingale and Chelsea Green and again, a who’s who.
So, is there anybody that maybe Rok-C is looking to step in the ring against?
“
As expected, the champ was eager to cross a few dream opponents off of her list.
“So, I’ve said this before, but I really want to step in the ring with Trish Adora,” the champ began. “Whether it be for my title, or not, I think she’s so awesome. I think her story is amazing. I think she’s a great professional wrestler and I really, really think that we could make some magic in there.”
“Chelsea Green, too,” she continued emphatically. “I really want to have a one-on-one with her just because we did have that tag match. And I think having a one on one with her would be amazing. She is amazing! She’s so sweet. She’s one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. She’s always been super helpful while I’ve been at Ring of Honor. Definitely those two.”
