Love Pro Wrestling and the Edmonton Oil Kings are proud to announce a collaboration that will see the first-ever independent wrestling event at Rogers Place, the Oil Rumble, take place on January 21st, 2024.
The event marks the first time an independent wrestling promotion has run an event at Rogers Place, following the successful debuts of WWE (March 15th, 2019) and All Elite Wrestling (July 5th, 2023).
“We’re honoured to have been asked to be a part of this event,” commented LPW founder Spencer Love. “Since opening in September 2016, Rogers Place has played host to some of Canada’s most memorable events, including the Oil Kings WHL Championship run in 2022. We’re incredibly proud to now be a part of that lineage in hosting the first-ever independent wrestling event in the building, and especially to be hosting in partnership with the Edmonton Oil Kings.”
“The Edmonton Oil Kings take great pride in the unmatched entertainment value our fans receive at Rogers Place,” said Kevin Radomski, Oil Kings Director of Business Operations. “By partnering with LPW we’re adding EVEN MORE entertainment to our already exciting product.
“On Sunday, January 21, fans at Rogers Place will be treated to great action on the ice and the best indy wrestling on our stage. It’s going to be an afternoon filled with slapshots and suplexes – the best value in family entertainment has just got better!”
