Love Pro Wrestling Preview ⎸ LPW 30: Flirty and Thriving

by Pluggo September 27, 2024
written by Pluggo

We are back and better than ever! It’s LPW 30, Flirty, and Thriving week! That is much easier to type out than to say. As you can imagine, I butchered it every single time. That said, my butchering of the name aside, this card is loaded – even Re:Loaded as the dynamic team from western Canada travels to Alberta to challenge for the LPW Tag Team Championship.

This card has it all, including easily one of the most personal matches we have ever seen as JACK Pride takes on Marz the Specialist for the LPW Grand Championship. We even have an awesome debut as Katrina Creed will challenge Zoë Sager. Also, if you’re into it, Berat Gorani will be there too, I guess. So before I go on another Berat Gorani rant, let’s jump right into this lineup!

LPW Challenge Championship: Micheal Richard Blais (c) vs. TY Jackson

Jackson will look to get back some singles gold since dropping the LPW Scramble Championship to Eli Surge. He will have to do so against one of the toughest opponents in LPW history, MRB. Blais hasn’t been figured out by his opponents lately and he doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. That all said, they don’t call TY Jackson the People’s Champion for nothing. You don’t hold the Scramble Championship for 100-plus days without the ability to power through adversity and even have a few tricks up your sleeve. The numbers game will always come into play as Taryn From Accounting and Steven Crowe are by MRB’s side. Does TY have a plan to overcome that, especially when his brethren, the RADz, have their own issues? If they boil over, will TY have to fly solo? There are so many intriguing questions to be answered during this challenge Championship Match. But, there is one thing you can’t question, and that is TY’s heart and never-quit attitude which has me saying, “AND NEW LPW Challenge Champion TY Jackson!”

LPW Tag Team Championships: Ride or Die(c) vs. Re:loaded

I posed the question on For Exposure: “Is this becoming too easy for Ride or Die?” I mean that in the most respectful way possible. TFA and Steven Crowe continue to add to their historic reign and get more and more confident in the process. Has their confidence turned to cockiness, and are they possibly overlooking a dynamic team like Re:Loaded? Maybe, maybe not, but I think it’s a fair question. It would be hard not to, at least for me.

Re:Loaded has been tearing up Western Canada and will, without question, give RoD everything they have to walk out as the new Tag Team Champions. How many times have I said this, though? When not only are you on the top of the mountain but the mountain is named after you, you can handle anyone at their best, and Friday night looks to be no different. While some things will change for the Clandestine Wrestling Society, others will stay the same.

Zoë Sager vs Katrina Creed.

It’s not very often we see Zoë Sager without – or challenging for – gold in LPW. Sager looks to retool and make a statement on the back of the debuting Katrina Creed. The trainee of Speedball Mike Bailey will be looking to avenge his loss at the hands of Sager with a massive debut win. It’s not easy to step into a new promotion and take on the company’s top star, let alone get the win. Katrina Creed is special, though, and really shines when the lights are the brightest. Can the Intangible One contain the Queen Cobra’s striking ability?

Tune in Friday night on IWTV to find out. I know, I have to make a pick here. Excuse me for stalling while I try to decide which way to go. Both competitors are two of the very best. Give me Zoë Sager, but in the hardest-fought win she’s had in 2024!

Lumberjack Larry Woods vs Rich King

Brothers fight – it’s a fact of life. You put multiple alphas together and the competitiveness will take over. The RADz have a history of things boiling over in the group, but time and time again find a way to get past it. Will this just be another bump in the road that they ultimately get past and are stronger because of it? Or is this the end of one of the most popular factions in LPW?

I know everyone has been talking about how badly Rich King needs this and that he will be the one to go wherever is needed to pick up a win. I, on the other hand, think you’d better not sleep on Larry. He’s been to the mountaintop twice and knows what that feels like, and add to the fact that both times ended quicker than he would have hoped. That, to me, is a recipe for a Lumberjack win by any means necessary.

Para Lira vs Casey Ferreira & Max Benson

I’ve said a lot of things in the past about Para Lira, mostly thanks to the fact that Berat Gorani is obsessed with me. That doesn’t take away from the fact that Para Lira is a well-oiled machine. It’s not just about getting the win with them, it’s also about making a statement. You will be hard-pressed to find a tag team that works so well together and, even in low periods, never waver on what the goal is.

Casey Ferreira and Max Benson have done nothing but impress in their short times in LPW, but that was at singles competition, where you don’t have to worry about what your partner is doing or their tendencies in the squared circle. Will they have all the kinks ironed out before the match, or will they gel as they go along? It’s a very tough ask for a new team in LPW to go up against anyone, but a team as cohesive as Para Lira could be just a little too much for Ferreira and Benson. It’s just a matter of time before Para Lira is challenging for Tag Gold again, and maybe some would say they will be due after this match. We shall see.

LPW Grand Championship: Marz The Specialist(c) vs. Jack Pride

This is, without question, the most personal feud we have ever seen in LPW. Once aligned together with the goal to rule LPW, now bitter rivals looking to destroy one another and do it without hesitation. How did we get here, you may ask? Well Jack Pride simply took for granted what Marz brought to Se7en, while also ignoring the fact that Pride himself was falling apart in front of our eyes. The Man of Two Minds couldn’t on a weekly basis decide which mind was in charge, and still can’t. I know he says Jack is gone but you never really know. This Last Man Standing match has the makings of pure cinema and won’t be for the faint of heart. Marz has proclaimed he will not and cannot die, while Pride has made it very clear they will both be walking out of LPW 30 changed forever…that’s if they can walk at all.

This is tough for me to choose, but give me Marz to come out on top. Sorry Pride, you have yet to show me you can win on the big stage without Marz having your back, so here’s your shot, but until then it’s Marz!

There you have it, friends. Friday night at 9 pm MT over on IWTV LPW 30, Flirty, and Thriving is the place to be! This is shaping up to be a show that will change the LPW landscape forever. You won’t want to miss this one. Until LPW 31 friends, we will see you next time!
