Zak loves bad movies. Possibly as much as pro-wrestlers love being in bad movies. So, film reviews are also in our wheelhouse, and helping us do so in our first review on Love Wrestling is a staple of what you might call the online wrestling community, Fowl Original!

Today we are enjoying THE PACKAGE, the 2013 film directed by Jesse V Johnson, written by Derek Kolstad, and most importantly as pertaining to this podcast, starring alongside Dolph Lundgren, is Stone Cold Steve Austin. In The Package, mob debt collector Tommy Wick (Austin) is instructed by his boss to deliver a mysterious package to an enigmatic figure known only as The German (Lundgren). All the while, Wick has to avoid continued pursuit by a relentless horde of mercenaries and gangsters, all looking to collect the package.

Our latest episode is a return to form, as we welcome an uninitiated fan to watch a wrestling with us on Smark & Friends. Émilie Plamondon joins us from Quebec City. She’s the brilliant host of Punk Détente on CHYZ 94.3 FM, and more recently launched The Punk Roquette Show podcast, all in celebration of punk rock music! We talk punk, podcasting, live shows, and of course, enjoy a wrestling match.

When we run these watchalongs, Zak likes to select matches that might appeal to our guests and perhaps relates to their own content. Well, there happens to be a punk rocker in the wrestling world who happens to be making a splash in the wrestling scene right now. We’re watching Ruby Soho – then known as Heidi Lovelace – take on Kimber Lee in a match out of F1RST Wrestling! Seriously, we couldn’t have timed this release better if we had meant to, as Ruby is making HUGE WAVES in the pro-wrestling scene as recently as this weekend.
