For the third straight year, Smark & Friends proudly presents an episode in affiliation with Toronto Comic Arts Festival. The past two years they have put us in contact with great guests and this year is in that same spirit. Kat Simmers and Ryan Danny Owen are the authors and artists behind PASS ME BY, the graphic novel series telling a queer rural Canadian tragedy about a man facing dementia, and being confronted by a past he chose to forget.
We talk at length about Pass Me By, including goals for the third book in the series and the inspiration behind it. We also discuss mural work, their own contributions to this year’s TCAF, and of course, watch a little wrestling. Much like the main character of Kat & Danny’s work, we’re watching a match featuring a pair of legendary wrestlers who refuse to let wrestling pass them by(nailed it). The Butcher & The Blade take on Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, The Rock N Roll Express, in a match from Beyond Wrestling!
