LPW x CWS 9: The Tournament For Salvation Finale

by Ryan Gagne December 1, 2023
written by Ryan Gagne

During the October show, LPW x CWS 8, the Clandestine Wrestling Society introduced the Champion of Salvation title. After a grueling six-person one-night tournament, The Rhinestone Cowboy Steven Crowe and Taryn From Accounting advanced to the finale at LPW x CWS 9. Considering the main event for this card was set in stone for a month, a handful of matches occurred before the first-ever Champion of Salvation took their rightful spot on the throne. In case you missed the latest show, here’s a recap of another entertaining night of professional wrestling at the Rec Room in South Edmonton.

Jared Rogers Continues To Outsmart Se7en With Pinfall Victory Over Marz the Specialist

In the night’s opening match, Jared Rogers, who picked up a shocking victory over LPW Scamble Champion Jack Pride last month, took his chances against a fellow faction member, Marz the Specialist. It was an evenly contested fight before Marz took control early, executing an aggressive assault on Rogers. Meanwhile, Pride taunted Rogers’ parents at ringside, and Se7en’s manager, Thaddeus Archer the Third, bugged the commentary team.

After finding his moment to strike, Rogers flipped the momentum, leading to a dropkick to the outside, with Marz landing two rows into the crowd. Of course, anytime Rogers had the upper hand, Pride got involved, using the ropes to choke out his partner’s opponent on several occasions. However, when it was one-on-one, the two competitors traded maneuvers and near pinfalls before the finish unraveled for the Se7en with a major miscommunication.

As Marz attempted to whip Rogers into Pride (who was standing on the apron), Rogers reversed it, leading to Marz taking the bump. While dazed, Rogers executed a roll-up pin for the win, much to the chagrin of Pride, who was furious.

Zoë Sager Cuts Promo About Not Losing the LPW Grand Championship

Before the first-ever blindfold match, a stipulation voted by fans, former LPW Grand Champion Zoë Sager came out to the ring early to cut a passionate promo about not losing the title at LPW 20: Planet Slammet, Janet. Despite sharing her side of the story, in which she condemned all the cheating while the referee was knocked out, the fans taunted her words. Although she promised to regain her spot at the top of the card, she appeared more focused on past events than her upcoming blindfold match, which extended her losing streak to two.

TY Jackson Makes History With Victory in First-Ever Blindfold Match

Before the LPW x CWS 9 event, fans could vote for the stipulation in a main event level match between TY Jackson and Sager. Interestingly, fans opted to see the two superstars go head-to-head with blindfolds on. Hilariously, it took several minutes for the action to pick up as Sager and Jackson clung to the ropes in opposite corners and circled the ring several times before finally bumping into one another and exchanging punches.

Naturally, once they lost contact with one another, they drifted apart, which led to Jackson almost throwing punches at the Christmas Tree on the stage since he followed the fans’ directions to the area. Although Sager was on the stage at one point, she crawled back into the ring, and with the referee’s back turned, she lifted her blindfold to gain the upper hand in the contest. However, Jackson got the last laugh when the pair re-engaged, and he secured an inside cradle for the pin.

Wolfboy Will Manthla Continues Quest For First LPW Win, Falls to Reid Matthews

Since debuting in the LPW this year, Wolfboy Will Manthla is still searching for his first promotion win, attempting to collect that exclusive victory over “The Thickness” Reid Matthews. Unfortunately, in another match where size played a significant factor, Matthews was able to pick up his third straight win.

After a slow start with Matthews controlling all the offense, Manthla found an opportunity and didn’t disappoint with his arsenal of moves. Even though it took several clothesline attempts, Matthews eventually got knocked off his feet. While running with the momentum on his side, Manthla connected with a neck breaker, then a 619, and finished the sequence with a drop kick. However, Matthews kicked out at two and three-quarters before executing a Blue Thunder Bomb to pick up the one, two, three.

Steven Crowe Becomes First Ever Champion of Salvation

The Rhinestone Cowboy Steven Crowe and Taryn From Accounting, also known as Ride and Die, are a tag team that recently had a shot at the LPW Tag Team Championships. Additionally, the two superstars are pillars of Clandestine Wrestling and appear to be best friends, making their battle for the Champion of Salvation even more special.

Instead of engaging at the sound of the bell, the two opted to have a dance-off, with Crowe teaching Taryn how to two-step before meeting in the middle for more dance moves. Eventually, Taryn tried a quick pin maneuver, with Crowe countering with one of his own. After avoiding the fight for the first few minutes, the two took the gloves off for an entertaining main event with countless nearfalls.

YOUR FIRST EVER…

CWS CHAMPION OF SALVATION

CONGRATULATIONS TO STEVEN CROWE!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THIS MONTHS EVENT & ALL THE LPWxCWS EVENTS OF 2023! SEE YOU TOMORROW AT LPW21! pic.twitter.com/d2TwI4zJpe

— The Clandestine Wrestling Society (@ClandestineSOC) November 24, 2023

At one point, Taryn nailed Crowe with a drop, with the latter screaming in agony, with an apparent face injury. Although there was no stoppage, Crowe came to life and begged his opponent to give him her best shot. Then, with momentum on his side, Crowe attempted three times to execute a backbreaker when Taryn rolled the pair outside the ring in one of the most awkward landings you could imagine. However, they immediately emerged on their feet with a table from under the ring.

Hilariously, the two argued over whose table it was and agreed to fight it out to see who got to put the other through it. Even though no one came close to being smashed through the table, the two competitors continued to trade assaults and near falls before Crowe climbed to the top rope, hoping to end the match finally. However, Taryn met him at the top, and the two embraced as they came crashing through the table, which broke in half. As the two warriors lie amongst the splitters, Crowe rolled over and dropped his arm on Taryn for the pin and championship victory.

Upcoming LPW Events

After LPW x CWS 9, there is only one show left on the calendar for 2023: LPW 21: The Chain Wrestling on Friday, November 24, at the Rec Room in South Edmonton Common. Since LPW shows are among the hottest events in professional wrestling, limited tickets are available for these upcoming premium live events. Whether you are coming for the first time or are a returning season ticket holder, fans should expect the year to end with a banger since four championships are on the line as the promotion prepares for its next show, the Oil Rumble, in January 2024.

Xavier Woods. The Ultimate Pro Wrestler.

by Omar MA November 27, 2023
written by Omar MA

Video games, professional wrestling and the power of positivity. Those words currently describe the bit of time I had playing Wrestlequest so far (Check out Love Wrestling’s interview with the person behind the game, Zack Manko).

Usually, those two words don’t mix well with “positivity”. Why? Well, just look at the site formerly known as Twitter. However, a certain individual made all three words work because he’s legit that damn good who’s sorely needed in this space.

Those 3 words are also the consequence of the decade-plus showcase of the most vigorous, charismatic and dare I say, influential wrestler of the modern era, Xavier Woods aka Austin Creed aka Rasheed Lucius Creed aka the man who got his face kicked by black snow aka King Woods aka Xavier Woods. Creed is like the actor Cillian Murphy in that you think he’s been doing this for a decade but in reality, he’s been doing this a bit longer, debuting a year earlier than his New Day member, Kofi Kingston.

Austin made his first appearance in wrestling at NWA which is something impressive to say if it was the year 1981 (like 1980s NWA, the present-day version includes a handful of cocaine. Talk about the wrong kind of nostalgia, am I right?).

Creed’s first big pitstop in wrestling was at the promotion that just got their name back (TNA! TNA! TNA!) where among other things, he teamed up with Ron Killings dubbing the duo as “Truth and Consequences” (Oh, so that’s where the name of Mike Knox and R Truth’s tag team came from in Smackdown Vs RAW 2011) as well as being in the X-Division championship picture.

In other words, he was basically in the tag team division then the mid-card.

With that sentence, you’re probably asking, “Are you sure you’re describing the year 2008 or 2023?”

Fun fact, he also wrestled for New Japan once again in a tag team setting but this time, he aligned himself with Kota Ibushi at the first-ever super juniors tournament.

Now thinking about it, a solo run for Creed at NJPW would’ve been TOO SWEET (Get it? New Japan? Bullet Club?). But, c’mon. Let’s be for real. Who doesn’t want to see Austin Creed vs Will Ospeary at the Tokyo Dome? I certainly do.

Austin (now Xavier Woods) would then finally join WWE and by far, the most notable thing he did before forming one of the greatest factions of all time, was beefing with Tyrus which I can’t blame him honestly.

Let’s talk about The New Day shall we? As I mentioned earlier, The New Day is one of the best factions of not only in the 2010s but also arguably of all time for the simple reason being that they weren’t the typical team where they first formed then tension/envy (the word envy, not the radio host that commitment real estate fraud) happened then break up.

Their bond along with the desire of all their friends to succeed makes them really stand out amongst the pack. They represent the phrase, “if you succeed then we succeed” so well.

Their motto has taught me that you don’t have to be envious of your friend’s success. Instead, celebrate those accomplishments with them because you were there by being a part of their journey. Remember, It’s not completion, it’s cohesion.

That infinite fuel of motivation has led to multiple tag team champions, 2 WWE championships (one from Kofi Kingston and the other from Big E but both equally robbed too fast from Brock Lesnar) and a King Of The Ring win from Woods himself, codifying their chapter in the book titled “Greatest of all time”.

Also, The New Day vs The Usos. That line says it all. Since we’re talking about best matches, here are some of his greatest solo encounters:

  • Xavier Woods vs Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at the April 2023 episode of Smackdown.
  • Xavier Woods vs Ricochet. King Of The Ring First Round-Match 12 Oct, 2021 episode of RAW.
  • Xavier Woods vs AJ Styles. 2016 episode of Smackdown.
  • Xavier Woods vs John Cena. US Championship Open Challenge. 12 Sep, 2015 episode of RAW. 1

Woods also created “UpUpDownDown” and as a result, made gaming in the macho of the machoest locker room more accepting than ever before thanks to Shelton Benjamin paving the way for guys like Woods to game backstage in the 2000s. On and all, Xavier Woods is by far one of Best performers in the business right now that hasn’t ever once made me go, “this guy really sucks, man.”

I’m going to end this piece with a quote from him in a recent interview with The Superstar Crossover podcast because it really represents him well (from SportsKeeda):

“In my head, I feel like in order to climb that mountain and become world champion, one day I need a U.S. Championship run, I need an Intercontinental Championship run… but that doesn’t mean that I need to break away from Kofi or E at all because what we do is we tell stories as a family.Friendship is the most important thing on this planet to me. That’s the only way we survive, that’s how we have societies and communities, that’s how we grow as a human race so that’s our focus is telling those stories in wrestling.

LPW 20: Planet Slammet, Janet Results | October 27, 2023

by Ryan Gagne October 28, 2023
written by Ryan Gagne

On the heels of one of the grandest events in LPW history, the promotion celebrated two years of packing The Rec Room in South Edmonton Common with a tribute to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, LPW 20: Planet Slammet, Janet. Featuring seven electrifying matchups, the performances didn’t disappoint as several storylines came to a close, and a handful of new ones were born.

Whether you watched the action in person or followed the show online, here’s a recap of how everything unfolded in what would be one of the most memorable nights of the year.

Se7en End “Judge” Ben Oomen’s Legendary Tenure as RADz’s Manager

LPW didn’t disappoint their fans with a banger to start the night, with RADz (TY Jackson and Rich King) going head to head with Se7en, led by Marz the Specialist and TJ Cannon. Additionally, both faction managers, “Judge” Ben Oomen (RADz) and Thaddeus Archer the Third (Se7en), jumped into the fight with their managerial careers on the line. After coming out as D-Generation X, the RADz opened the bout with a solid offensive attack, with Jackson leading the way. Eventually, King tagged in and took a beating by both Marz and Cannon before all hell broke loose, with referee Stuart Garvey trying his best to keep things in order.

Of course, Se7en used these opportunities to get in some sneaky moves before Jackson did a moonsault into a pile of wrestlers on the outside. However, these competitors were not done wreaking havoc on their bodies when everyone climbed up the turnbuckle in a human-like Jenga puzzle, only to come crashing down in various slams leading to the night’s first “holy shit” chant.

Absolute carnage right now! Both team’s leaving it all in the ring to save their respective manager! #PlanetSlammetJanet pic.twitter.com/7Bmnn7oTGo

— For Exposure (@ForExposurePod) October 28, 2023

Finally, the crowd got what they wanted when Oomen and Archer went toe-to-toe in the center of the ring. The Judge landed a piledriver before body-slamming Marz down for a two-count. As chaos ensued again, Cannon nailed a low blow on Jackson for the win, thus ending Oomen’s time as the RADz manager.

Reid Matthews Outduels Dean Richtor in Slugfest

After working out in a car graveyard, destroying whatever he could get his hands on, Reid Matthews showcased that this specialized training regiment paid off with a victory over Dean Richtor. As two of the promotion’s strongest athletes began their battle after the bell, it was anyone’s game. The two exchanged blows and maneuvers without their opponent stumbling. Ultimately, this wasn’t wrestling a match; instead, it was a slugfest, with the two continuously testing their strength with their fists or slams. Eventually, Richtor executed a diving headbutt from the top rope, but Matthews landed his pattented Blue Thunder Bomb to pick up a convincing pinfall victory.

ROSE is Triumphant in LPW Return, Pinning Seleziya Sparx in Her Debut

As the show rolled along, the third match of the evening featured ROSE, who was making her LPW return, squaring off against Seleziya Sparx, who was making her LPW debut. Considering this match was the only one on the card that featured two elite women trading blows, they did not disappoint. After the first grapples, each performer got in some moves, going back and forth before Sparx took control of the momentum. Although ROSE never found herself in that much trouble, breaking any pinfall attempts at two, she found the strength to lead a vicious attack that led to the rowdy crowd chanting, “This is awesome.” However, ROSE’s assault was short-lived when Sparx got her down on the mat in a lengthy crossface that almost ended with a rope break, but the two, still locked together, ended up in the corner when ROSE managed to hit the Code Red and get the three count.

Jack Pride Retains, Narrowly Escapes With Scramble Championship

Although the original lineup for the Scramble Championship at LPW 20 changed in the days leading up to the event, Jack Pride is a fighting champion who had plenty of time to adjust his training approach for his latest title defense. Even though he wasn’t the star of this fatal five-way match, he found his moments to execute a few big spots, like diving into his competitors as they battled outside the ring, landing on El Asesino about three rows into the crowd.

He showed up last night and called his shot. Jack Pride and Se7en are firing on all cylinders!#PlanetSlammetJanet pic.twitter.com/AYtvqHjhFi

— Between Two Beards (@B2Beards) October 28, 2023

After that initial fury of activity, Pride let everyone else beat up each other, with Riley Cruz, Maurice Waltz, and Will Mantla getting their chances to shine. Eventually, with Cruz and Mantla down, Pride pounced on his opportunity to secure the pinfall victory on Cruz. However, on the other side of the ring, unbeknownst to the official counting the fall, El Asesino had Mantla down in a pin. Immediately after the bell, the Se7en rushed out to celebrate with their Scramble champion while El Asesino was left to walk away empty-handed.

Clandestine Society Dominate Trios Match

When fans returned to their seats after intermission, the Clandestine Society, led by Michael Richard Blais, Steven Crowe, and Taryn From Accounting, took on the team of Jacky Lee, Shareef Morrow, and Liiza Hall. Ultimately, in one of the night’s most entertaining contests, the Clandestine all-star team orchestrated a well-thought-out plan of attack, which kept the momentum mostly in their corner for the match.

Crowe and Morrow kicked things off before Blais tagged in and kept the offense rolling. Eventually, Lee entered the match, but Taryn halted any opportunities to let the opposition gain any traction. Then, Hall came in for the first time and finally caused some damage for her team, sending the CS members scrambling. However, it was almost all for nothing as the Clandestine Soceity stars got Lee, Morrow, and Hall in submission moves before Crowe and Lee hit double knee strikes from the top rope, with the crowd erupting with “holy shit” chants.

That stud @BBBoris has his work cut out for him calling this insane Trios Match #PlanetSlammetJanet pic.twitter.com/LV91Ekr2Y8

— For Exposure (@ForExposurePod) October 28, 2023

After that carnage, Lee tossed Blais into the crowd, disrupting the first two rows at ringside, but Blais eventually had the last laugh by escaping a neckbreaker before going coast-to-coast with a leg drop on Shareef. However, when Shareef recovered, he had Crowe and Taryn locked in a DDT position when Blais hit a Vertebreaker for the hard-fought pin.

While the crowd was still celebrating the Clandestine win, Blais grabbed a microphone and told the crowd that he was coming for the Grand Championship. Whether he was next in line or the one who had to fight the next in line for their spot, Blais put the locker room on notice with his desire to once again hold championship gold.

Para Lire Remain LPW Tag Team Champions with Dirty Finish

As tag team champions, Para Lira (Berat Gorani and Sheik Shabaz) continues to roll through their competition, so Son of Irish and Jared Rogers got together to dethrone the reigning champions. Considering this match had some high flyers, there was no surprise that there would be wild stunts, like Son of Irish tossing Gorani into the crowd from the ring apron.

THE APA HAVE ARRIVED IN LPW!!!#PlanetSlammetJanet pic.twitter.com/VH54XjGwSK

— For Exposure (@ForExposurePod) October 28, 2023

However, Para Lira, fighting as the APA (Acolytes Protection Agency) on the night, showed that pure strength is more valuable than landing flashy moves. Eventually, everyone got laid out for a five-count, and when they got back up, they exchanged blows, leading to a Shabaz chokeslam and Gorani splash from the top rope. As Gorani rolled up Son of Irish for the pin, Shabaz, outside the ring, held down his opponent’s feet, making it impossible to kick out, which led to another Para Lira victory leading many in the crowd to say, “DAMN!”

Lumberjack Larry Woods Overcomes the Odds to Win LPW Grand Championship

In one of the most extraordinary main events in LPW history, underdog challenger Lumberjack Larry Woods took a beating. Still, he overcame the odds and chaos to be crowned the new Grand Champion. Interestingly, for weeks leading up to this main event match, Zoë Sager talked down her opponent, and with Matthews at her side, it seemed the Intangible Era would never end. Yet, on a snowy night in late October, an entire locker room of heels couldn’t keep Woods down on the most incredible night of his LPW career.

After the opening bell, the two superstars took turns with offensive attacks, leading to Woods attempting the first pinfall early. Eventually, Sager gained the upper hand and briefly controlled the pace until Woods found his moment to land damaging blows to the champion. Despite all her attempts, Woods would not stay down, kicking out of several pinfalls, which got the crowd in his corner for his resiliency.

However, after referee Garvey got knocked out, chaos ensued. First, Matthews hopped into the ring and laid a beat down on Woods. Although that wasn’t enough to slow him down, he managed to execute a leg drop from the top rope on Sager, who found herself in trouble at this point. Then, Se7en came out with Marz, Cannon, and Pride all taking turns pounding on Woods. Finally, the RADz came to the rescue, with Jackson taking everyone out from the top rope. Yet, this carnage wasn’t enough as Se7en began their assault again, forcing CWS stars Blais, Crowe, and Taryn to run out, with Blais clearing the ring.

Defying all odds, Lumberjack Larry Woods is your NEW #LPW Grand Champion!

Friends, you had to be there. TOUCH TIPS☝️ pic.twitter.com/a3mvgsKIZ2

— Love Wrestling || Love Pro Wrestling (@LoveWrestlingCA) October 28, 2023

Luckily, Garvey slowly got back up and managed a very slow two-count for Sager after a low blow. However, he took another bump and was done for the match. Ultimately, in one of her last acts as champion, Sager desperately tried to knock Woods into next year with a vicious chair attack that left him bleeding from several wounds on his back. Despite all the interference and physical beat down, Woods found the energy to execute his famous Sawline finisher and, with an official running in from the back, secured the one, two, three for the Grand Championship.

Upcoming LPW Events

Surprisingly, after one of the wildest nights in LPW history, the Rec Room in South Edmonton Common still stands. As Spencer loves to point out each time he’s in the ring with a mic, LPW is only getting started, and the best is yet to come. Ultimately, tonight proved that LPW is the hottest professional wrestling ticket in town. As details about the November show begin to be released on social media, we advise you to act quickly to get your tickets before you miss out on the carnage and history in person.

LPW x CWS 8: The Tournament For Salvation

by Ryan Gagne October 27, 2023
written by Ryan Gagne

About 24 hours ahead of LPW 20: Planet Slammet, Janet, the stars of Clandestine Wrestling Society (CWS), and Love Pro Wrestling (LPW) took to the mat at the South Edmonton Common Rec Room with the opening rounds of the Tournament for Salvation. Although the general public was unaware of the prize at the finale in November, the fans who ventured out in the snow were treated to some entertaining bouts, with the finalists determined in less than two hours of action.

Even though a handful of these tournament matches were short affairs, there were many developing storylines during the show, so without further ado, let’s get to the highlights.

Taryn From Accounting punches her ticket to the semi-finals, beating Berat Gorani

Two familiar foes, Berat Gorani and Taryn From Accounting, faced off against one another in the night’s first match. After the opening bell, each competitor got in some offensive moves and pinfalls before Gorani took control of the match, nailing Taryn with everything in his arsenal. Eventually, Taryn did her best John Cena impression for Halloween, finally ending Gorani’s attacks in a quick turnaround, nailing the Number Cruncher to advance to the semi-finals.

Marz the Specialist showcases his resiliency in edging Sheik Shabaz in quarter-final action

In the night’s second bout, Marz the Specialist took on Gorani’s tag team partner, Sheik Shabaz, in another tournament matchup. Once the two superstars locked up in the ring, Marz landed the show’s first highlight reel move when he clotheslined Shabaz out of the ring and then dove through the ropes, landing in the front row. Despite being on the wrong end of the move, Shabaz seemed energized upon returning to the ring, taking the fight to Marz, who didn’t have any answers.

At one point, it appeared to be curtains for Marz, who took a missile drop kick from the top rope but found the strength to hit a running knee that Shabaz barely kicked out at two and a half. Ultimately, with momentum seemingly on his opponent’s side, Marz tried to use the tag team championship as a weapon, only to land a low blow instead to secure the pinfall and pass through to the semi-finals.

Jared Rogers upsets Scramble Champion Jack Pride in an entertaining contest

Jared Rogers continues to carve out his legacy at LPW with a massive win over Scramble Champion Jack Pride, who came to the ring looking upset and holding a set of keys for some reason. Of course, Pride attempted to use the keys without rhyme or reason to attack Rogers, who was in the mood for a wrestling match, not a street fight. Eventually, referee Stuart Garvey managed to get things under control, which was when Rogers landed a handful of offensive attacks, leaving Pride looking for answers.

Although he was distracted, Pride had no response to Roger’s relentless attack, which included another spot in the crowd with the underdog nailing a kick through the ropes. As Pride turned his attention back to the keys, he left himself vulnerable for a small package roll-up, resulting in a three count and Rogers earning a spot in the final four. Even though it was confusing to follow Pride’s motives, there’s no denying Rogers his moment as he earned his spot with a solid offensive attack.

Steven Crowe advances in the tournament with a win over Wolfboy Will Mantla

As one of the brightest stars in CWS, Steven Crowe advanced to the semi-finals after eliminating Wolfboy Will Mantla in a short match with plenty of action. Immediately following the opening bell, Crowe took the fight to Mantla, who didn’t counter much and found himself kicking out of several pinfall attempts. Even though he spent more time defending than attacking, anytime Mantla managed to get some moves in, they were enough to throw Crowe off his game. Although each competitor landed significant blows to one another, Crowe picked up the victory off a counter, landing him in a coveted semi-final matchup against Rodgers.

Grand Champion Zoë Sager, with Reid Matthews, talk smack to the RADz

The wrestling world will tune into the main event featuring Grand Champion Zoë Sager and Lumberjack Larry Woods on Friday night at LPW 20. However, a night before the epic showdown, the two competitors met in a tag team match after Sager came out to mock Woods for being a loser most of his career. Although no one from the RADz, including Woods himself, came out to tear the mic out of the champion’s hand, she talked about how their upcoming match would be another failure in his career, and eventually, the RADz would realize they couldn’t beat her.

The RADz lose a critical tag team match ahead of a championship showdown on Friday night

As expected, TY Jackson and Sager started the tag team match, engaging in some quick maneuvers before Woods tagged in, forcing Sager to abandon her attack. Despite everyone in attendance waiting for a preview of Friday’s night main event, Sager immediately tagged Reid Matthews, and he suffered a heavy beatdown, which included several double team spots. Eventually, Jackson and Sager met again, with the champion trying to cheat (again).

However, their interactions were short-lived, with Woods and Matthews tagging back in and executing some great sequences before everyone got involved in the match. By the end, Jackson got Matthews down in a pin, but before the referee’s hand could reach three, he broke the pin with a low blow. As Jackson tried to regain his barrings, Matthews rolled him up for a pinfall, leaving the RADz to walk away empty-handed just 24 hours before the faction’s biggest match to date.

Crowe secures his spot in the tournament final with a pinfall victory over Rogers

Earlier in the night, Crowe and Rogers picked up wins to advance to the Tournament of Salvation semi-finals. During their second night match, the pair didn’t waste anything mounting an offensive attack against one another, with each landing damaging blows to begin the contest. Although he could have been deemed an underdog for the second straight contest, Rogers kept knocking Crowe down with countless moves, but The Rhinestone Cowboy wouldn’t stay down. After a suplex from the top rope, Crowe landed a decisive blow to Rogers’ campaign to be in the tournament finale, securing a three count to become the first wrestler to advance to the finals.

Nothing is more certain than death, taxes, and Taryn From Accounting in the Finals

As the first challenger who came to the ring for the match, Taryn From Accounting was not expecting a sneak attack from Marz the Specialist, who ran in from the crowd to nail Taryn from behind before the bell even rang. Although she had time to compose herself, Marz launched a relentless assault, keeping Taryn down without any opportunities to mount an attack until several minutes into the contest.

Eventually, the tide turned, and Marz found himself in trouble when Taryn began to counter his moves and flipped the script on the cocky guy already thinking about winning the tournament instead of focusing on his current challenge. Although he landed the match’s best move with a toss from the top rope, both competitors eventually went down for a lengthy count after a double clothesline. Upon returning to their feet, Taryn had Marz right where she wanted him, landing her finisher for the second time on the night to punch her ticket to the all-CWS finals.

God’s Gift to Wrestling and CWS Founder Michael Richard Blais introduces the Champion of Salvation belt

According to social media, hours before LPW x CWS 8 went live, CWS Founder Michael Richard Blais announced that he would be in the crowd watching the Tournament of Salvation and would eventually tell everyone what the winner would receive at the next event. After a passionate speech about all the performers of CWS and the partnership with LPW, Blais unveiled the Champion of Salvation title belt, which will be awarded to the tournament winner and defended at upcoming CWS events. Additionally, the belt can be cashed in for an LPW title shot, and a new champion can again be crowned through a tournament format. As fate would have it, two of CWS’s top stars, Taryn From Accounting and Steven Crowe, will battle to become the promotion’s first-ever champion in November.

Upcoming LPW Events

Although it is cold outside and getting to events takes a little longer due to road conditions, LPW is still moving forward at full speed, hosting a Rocky Horror Picture Show theme event on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at 7:00 pm at the Rec Room in South Edmonton Common. As mentioned, the main event will feature LPW’s top prize, but with six other exciting matches on the card, there’s no telling what could happen in one of the promotion’s biggest shows of the year. Whether you are watching from your couch or attending in person, don’t miss a chance to watch the best professional wrestling show in Alberta.
