Pluggo’s Top 5 of the Week!

by Pluggo

We live in truly the wildest timeline in wrestling history. Dirty Dom is a double champion. WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia. Plus AJ Lee got WWE fans to chant and cheer for therapy, which is absolutely amazing considering when she was around for her first run, I don’t think people would have done that. It’s great to see how far prioritizing mental health has come. Don’t even be ashamed to prioritize your mental health. We are a mere week away for AEW All Out & WWE WrestlePalooza so this week, there is a ton of fun and exciting stuff to choose from. In true Pluggo fashion, let’s narrow it down to five things that I loved from the week that was!

AJ Lee Returns to RAW

Once again I thought AJ Lee shined during her return to RAW. As mentioned above, she spoke on her reasons to be away for so long and mental health was one of them. Celebrating mental health in a WWE setting is absolutely wonderful to see and hear! Couple that with we are now officially getting CM Punk & AJ Lee vs Seth Rollins vs Becky Lynch at WrestlePalooza. That is awesome. It felt like AJ Lee hadn’t missed a beat since she left, essentially goading Rollins into accepting the match as he attempted to retrieve his wife’s Intercontinental Championship from your favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler. AJ Lee’s brand of craziness was truly missed, and I think much needed on RAW in the women’s division!

Jacy Jayne Messed Up

“I am the greatest NXT Women’s Champion of all time,” Jacy Jayne proclaimed at the end of NXT. Well, a few former NXT Women’s Champions took that personally. Stephanie Vaquer, Tiffany Stratton and Rhea F’N Ripley returned to let Jayne know how they felt about such a statement. Next week’s NXT Homecoming looks to be loaded and we are getting the NXT Women’s Championship All Star vs Fatal Influence. If I’m Jacey Jayne, I come up with a backup plan to stop this loaded trip.

Daniel Garcia joins the Death Riders

Darby Allin has been a thorn in the side of Jon Moxley and the Death Riders practically since their inception (minus the Mt. Everest trip). Ahead of their Coffin match at All Out, Jon Moxley had another surprise up his sleeve. Daniel Garcia attacked Darby Allin to the point that even the Death Riders pulled him off of Allin. This is a great move for Garcia, as he has struggled to find his way since dropping the TNT Championship. In my opinion this is a perfect pairing, as Garcia fits the vibe of this group perfectly. With the absence of PAC due to injury, he’d slot perfectly into trios or tag team opportunities for the group. If they can also land Kris Standlander to the group it could be the unstable, unpredictable and unstoppable faction Jon Moxley has envisioned from the beginning.

Jey Uso becoming Roman Reigns?

Main Event Jey Uso has risen to levels of success that many thought wasn’t possible. He was a tag team guy and in the shadows of others when he joined the Bloodline. I don’t need to tell you that he’s smashed all expectations on his meteoric rise to the top of WWE.

We have seen Jey’s demeanor change over the last few weeks, as he keeps coming up short in opportunities to reclaim gold and seemingly always helping others for very little in return. He’s now back with his brother Jimmy Uso to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at WrestlePalooza. One of the all time greatest tag teams in WWE history are heading into a very important tag match not on the same page. Jimmy even called out Jey for starting to sound like Roman after Jey proclaimed, “if they don’t acknowledge us, we smash them,” then Jey spearing LA Knight to close the night, saying, “Now we are good.” This is a fun new wrinkle for Main Event Jey as he struggles with being on top and the success and failure of that going to his head.

Dirty Double Champ Dom

Friday night at Worlds Collidem Domink Mysterio defeated Vikingo to become Triple A Mega Champion. Mysterio is also your WWE Intercontinental Champion at the moment. Who had Dirty Dom as a double champion, let alone a World Champion on their 2025 bingo card? I’ll wait, because I’m sure even Dom didn’t see this coming. Dirty Dom has come a long way from the “Go Away heat” he had a few years ago, but all the credit in the world goes out the self-proclaimed “King of The Luchadors” as it’s Double Champ Dom’s world and we are all just living in it.

There you have it! Next week we have two massive PPV’s, or PLE’s, whatever you call them these days. Plus, NXT Homecoming looks bonkers with Carmelo Hayes back, plus Tyler Breeze has returned as well, and that’s what they want you to know about. We are in for a special week, y’all. See you next week for another Top 5! As always keep it locked in at Love Wrestling for your latest content from your favorite creators! See you next weekend!!!
