It’s crazy to think we are at the 40th LPW Friday Night Flagship show. It’s The Rise and Fall of a Western Canadian Wrestler time. I expect all rising and very little falling as LPW continues to show out month in and month out! LPW is shaping up to be no different and no doubt a fantastic night…for fans and the winners of these 6 highly important matches. For the losers, it will be time to regroup and hope to impress enough to get on LPW 41. Enough about 41 and what could be – let’s jump right into the matches and predictions from LPW 40!
TY Jackson vs Christian Starr

TY Jackson has been through it all in LPW, but right now he’s in a headspace that I’d imagine even he hasn’t seen in LPW. No one has been through the consistent heartbreak and shortcomings that TY has, whether it be title opportunities going to others or coming up short in title opportunities that did go to him. That’s simply part of the business and most wrestlers know that signing up. Best friends turning on you and doing everything they can to destroy the world around you? That’s not something TY signed up for. I don’t know anyone that would.
What makes TY Jackson great is he doesn’t let that get in his way of making his mark in LPW. He looks to get back on the winning side against the talented and upcoming Christian Starr.
Starr is back from some time in Japan and who knows what he has added to his arsenal. Christian gives me “early TY in LPW” vibes. Starr can do it all in the ring and the fans have really gotten behind him as he continues to impress each and every time he’s here. A win over TY Jackson could be the catalyst for a future title opportunity for Starr.
We could be looking at an absolute show-stealer from these two, but give me TY Jackson to get the job done, while Starr will leave this match putting himself on the map as a future LPW Main Event player after pushing TY to the brink.
Zoe Sager vs The Canadian Goose Kyle Shaw

If you don’t recognize the ZPW Grand Championship then Zoe Sager has a problem with you. If you do recognize the ZPW Grand Championship but don’t recognize it as THE top prize in ZPW, Zoe Sager has a problem with you. If you do recognize the ZPW Grand Championship and believe it’s THE top prize in LPW, quite frankly Zoe Sager still has a problem with you. She does not care what you think.
Ever since her stunning return, Sager has been on a mission to show the world she is the end-all, be-all in LPW. Zoe looks to be on a collision course to face the LPW Grand Champion Steven Crowe. First she will have to take care of former Clandestine Champion of Salvation Kyle Shaw.
Kyle is a fan favorite and very underrated in what he can do in the ring, but I wouldn’t want to see Zoe Sager standing across from me in the mood she’s in as of late. Give me your ZPW Grand Champion Zoe Sager in a statement win.
Jacked and Juicy Open Challenge

I don’t know if it even matters who answers the call as Para Lira are having the run of their careers right now. The LPW Tag Team Champions have been unstoppable in their tag team title run. Their title defenses have yet to be in true doubt. Sure, an open challenge presents them with the unknown factor and no time to prepare for their opponents. I don’t think that will even matter – very few teams work as well together as Para Lira.
If I had to guess, maybe Nasty Nate Nixon and White Shirt William Taylor pull double duty and take another crack at the Jacked and Juicy Ones.
Michael Richard Blais & Steven Crowe vs The Mad Lads

So if that above prediction is to ring true, a lot of good would need to happen for the Mad Lads. At LPW 39, MRB got the best of Rose and her attempt to win the Challenge Championship. Naturally the Mad Labs weren’t pleased and jumped MRB, leading to a mugging at the hands of Elevation.
That led to Steven Crowe coming out late and watching the mugging unfold. While confusing at the time, they are still brothers. The Clandestine Society has a lot of issues at the moment but the goal of staying on top in LPW remains most important as they look to set aside their issues to prove they are still the top faction in LPW and that Elevation will not take their spot.
Give me your champions to find a way to slow down the fast rise of the Mad Lads and Elevation.
Dean Rictor vs Ginha

Ginha gave Steven Crowe all he could handle last month in a non-title showcase. He will look to bounce back against Dean Richtor, who might be pound for pound the hardest hitting member in LPW. If Ginha is to avoid the strike power of Richtor, he will need to rely on his speed and agility. This is a classic clash in styles that has both men looking to position themselves. Dean Richtor has some backup as Thaddeus Archer has seemingly taken a liking to him. If Thad wants to lock down another big-time player, his investment in this match could pay dividends for Richtor. That said, Thad could look to see what Richtor can do on his own and wait until the post-match to make his intentions known. But what’s the fun in that? Rictor wins via distraction.
Scramble Championship Match

Rose has done nothing but dominate since her return, and I’m not talking simply wins and losses. The presence Elevation has had is felt throughout the entire roster. They see cracks in the foundation of LPW and have looked to tear down the building and rebuild it in their vision.
That’s all fine and good until you are looking across the ring at 3 day-one LPW guys who all have a claim for the Mt. Rushmore of the first 39 events in Rich King, Marz The Specialist & Reid Matthews. Throw in the returning Barricade, and that’s an uphill battle for just about anyone.
Rose always has the Mad Lads at her disposal, and while she may not need them, it’s nice to know they are available. My gut tells me they will get involved, which would make for a busy night for the Lads.
Don’t forget Thaddeus Archer and his scheme to get Dean Richtor in the fold as well. He has Jack at his disposal, and even if Jack doesn’t agree with Thad’s approach, he is under contract. So that makes me think this Scramble will be a bit of an arms race between Rose & Rich King, the latest Thaddeus Archer project.
Would I be shocked if they canceled each other out and it came down to a Short King grabbing some more gold? Not at all. That said, who would defer to whom? Are Reid Matthews and Marz even on good terms right now? We have seen them have some differences this year. I don’t know who walks away with the Scramble Gold. I guess I’ll take Rose retaining in what looks to be a chaotic situation that should be a good time.
