SMACKDOWN: CAN’T-MISS MOMENTS JANUARY 22nd, 2021

Bianca Belair & Bayley

After a one-week absence, we are back with the best moments from the January 22, 2021 edition of WWE SmackDown. Last week’s episode was stuffed with some good moments. You’ll have to believe me or go back and watch.

For now, let’s get down to business.

Sami Zayn Handcuffs Himself to the Barricade

Before the first commercial break, Sami Zayn came out with a sign that read #JusticeforSami and handcuffed himself to the ringside barricade. I immediately wrote it down in my highlight notes. I didn’t even need to know what was going to happen. I just knew it was going to be excited by it. Throughout the first hour of the night, Sami can be seen holding signs that read “#JusticeForSami,” “Sami Zayn Was Robbed – Change My Mind,” and the anagram “Stand Against Moral Injustice.” During a promo between Cesaro and Daniel Bryan, Cesaro briefly held up the microphone to Zayn before pulling it back and declaring, “No wants to hear you talk.” When the IC title match between Big E and Apollo Crew began, he was seen holding a “Not My I.C. Champion” sign in Big E’s face, who took great pleasure in taunting Zayn.

Things really got interesting when Zayn un-cuffed himself during the middle of the match and delivered a Helluva kick to both Big E and Apollo Crews—ending the match. Something tells me this is leading to a Triple Threat match at Royal Rumble, which would be outstanding.

Cesaro Continues to Roll into Rumble

One of the secondary storylines heading into the rumble has been the rise of Cesaro. Last week, he scored a decisive victory over Daniel Bryan after a long and impressive match.

This week, he interrupted Daniel Bryan, who challenged Cesaro to a rematch, and said he was sick and tired of having to prove himself over and over again. He issued an open challenge to anyone who had already declared for the Royal Rumble match. One Showoff answered the call. The match was brief but nonetheless impressive. Honestly, I’ve never been a big Cesaro fan, but with a little mic time and great matches like this, I’m starting to believe.

Bianca Belair

What more can I say about here that hasn’t already been said? She is an absolute star in the mak— scratch that, she’s a star. I don’t think there is any height she can’t reach. She’s confident, athletic, and charismatic, and we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg of all the talent she has.
