LPW 46: Savage Love Preview

by Pluggo

We are so back, from Changing The Game four years ago to Savage Love this week, happy four-year anniversary to Love Pro Wrestling – one of my must-watch, can’t-miss shows every month, and no, I’m not just saying that. Month in and month out, the show gets bigger, and the stakes get higher. I’ve had the pleasure of watching LPW grow into what it has become. Sure, most of the LPW roster has yelled at me over the years, but I wouldn’t want to be yelled at by any other roster. Did I deserve it? Maybe. That said, it’s been awesome to see the growth of these performers throughout the years. This card is shaping up to be an excellent evening, so let’s get right into all of it!

Dean Rictor and Rich King vs Para Lira

Tag Team Championship

Do you think, after Rich King’s heinous actions last month, that Berat Gorani is worried about his beautiful hair? I know I would be. I don’t think Rich is a licensed barber, but he has no problem cutting people’s hair, as he did to Larry Woods last month. One thing I do know is Para Lira is not afraid of Rich King or Dean Richtor, as they have run every team in the LPW Tag division, and then some. Rich King has no intentions of being in the tag division, but when a championship opportunity is there, you take it. Rich King and Dean Richtor will need to be locked in, ready to go against Para Lira, who will have their work cut out for them as Rich King’s viciousness is at an all-time high.

I have to mention the Thaddeus Archer effect, as he’s always plotting and scheming, so hopefully Para Lira has an answer heading into LPW 46.

TY Jackson vs Steven Crowe

LPW Grand Championship

This match should be as simple as Steven Crowe versus TY Jackson, two day one talents fighting for the top prize on the anniversary show. Instead, whatever this Rhinestone Rules stipulation is that Crowe has injected into this match has now made this as convoluted as ever; it didn’t need to be. Why can’t TY Jackson get his opportunity one-on-one with no outside interference? Can Steven Crowe do it without The Clandestine Society involving themselves and muddying up the waters of what should be a monumental moment in LPW history? I’m not saying Steven Crowe winning is bad for business. I’m saying Steven Crowe complains about how he’s underappreciated and how the LPW crowds don’t appreciate him. Here’s your opportunity to take down the People’s Champ without any doubt. As for TY Jackson, he now has to overcome another obstacle on his road to the LPW Grand Championship. It will certainly get messy, convoluted, and a lot to overcome, but in true TY Jackson fashion, he has continued to take everything on the chin, pushing forward towards the ultimate goal of his 1st LPW grand championship.

We all know, win, lose, or draw, TY Jackson will make no excuses for what happens. As for Steven Crowe, I’m not so sure my man couldn’t stomach a loss, and I’m sure the finger-pointing will begin. Steven Crowe has time and time again found a way to retain that LPW Grand Championship. All I know, folks, is that I am ready to strap into this main event. It is going to be an epic night, and I, for one, am going to roll with the People’s Champion. His hand will be raised, and he will win his first LPW Grand Championship and finally finish his story.

Zoe Sager vs Gigi Rey vs Taryn From Accounting vs Kyle Shaw vs Jaxx Wylder

LPW Scramble Championship

You cannot tell the story of LPW without Zoe Sager being near the top of the conversation. The Intangible One always has an angle. Sager is always two steps ahead of anyone she works with or against. It doesn’t matter. Sager has their number before they even know it. Zoe Sager is stepping into the LPW Scramble Match, the most unpredictable LPW match. She’s also going against her biggest rival, Taryn from Accounting, who is my personal favorite.

On top of that, you’ve got Gigi Rey, who is one of the top independent wrestlers. You will not find anybody better than Millwoods’ own Gigi Rey! Fan favorite Kyle Shaw, the Canadian Goose (HONK HONK HONK), hasn’t touched gold in the last couple of years. Goose would love to get back into the LPW championship picture, and what a way to do it if he could pull off the upset here. There’s also Jaxx Wylder, who broke out in late 2025 and took MRB to his limit in his Challenge Championship opportunity last month. You know he’s hungry to grab gold.

Is Zoe Sager‘s number up here at Savage Love? I’m not going to go that far. Zoe is still aligned with Nate Nixon & White Shirt William Taylor, the Mad Lads. Their manifesto, their goal is simple – keep gold on Zoe Sager, as we saw last month when they had an opportunity to win it themselves and deferred to Sager. The Lads do have their own business focus on Saturday as they face the Short Kings, but clearly they will defer to their leader, Zoe Sager, to make sure that she retains. It’s hard for me to fathom Zoe losing the Scramble Championship as she continues to find a way to win. Everyone knows if you’ve been paying attention over the last four years, I never – never – pick against Taryn From Accounting. TFA is my GOAT. TFA is your new LPW Scramble Champion come Saturday.

Lumberjack ack Larry Woods vs Michael Richard Blais

LPW Challenge Championship

For the first time in Challenge Championship history, I’m going out on a limb and say both competitors’ minds are elsewhere.  Woods & Blais will tell you they’re focused on the business at hand on Saturday. Let’s look at the facts: Larry Woods just had his head scalped at the hands of Rich King; that restraining order is still in effect, if I’m not mistaken. I’m no legal expert and don’t know how that works. Michael Richard Blais has had to deal with the erratic behavior of Stephen Crowe while trying to keep The Clandestine Society together. They have remained strong, but there seems to be a power struggle amongst the Brothers. Crowe is the Grand Champion, so he thinks having the top prize makes him their top Alpha, but MRB has been the leader and the face of the group as the Challenge Champion, and that dynamic has slowly been eroding over the last few months. It’s not crazy to wonder if Woods and Blais are focused on the task at hand. The Challenge Championship lineage is rich with moments and history. If Lumberjack Larry Woods and MRB can put all the outside business behind them and go out there and cook for 20 minutes, we’re going to be looking at the match of the night. Both of these men can go. Both of these men understand the assignment. I love me some Larry Woods, but I don’t love Thaddeus Archer, Dean Richtor, and Rich King being in the building when Larry is doing his thing, so give me MRB. I don’t think that group can stay away from Lumberjack Larry Woods, restraining order or not.

The Mad Lads vs The Short Kings

It’s hard to imagine a more popular duo in LPW history than the Short Kings. Marz the Specialist and Reid Matthews have seen it all, done it all, and faced them all. What do you give the team that has seen it all?  How about their toughest test to date? This Mad Lads duo is as dynamic as they are deadly. Nixon and Taylor have taken LPW by storm. The Lads don’t believe in a pecking order or paying your dues. The Mad Lads want it all, and they want it now. Stepping on anyone and everyone to get what they want, no matter how tall they are. William Taylor and Nate Nixon have an opportunity to cement themselves as top players in LPW. They believe they are, but until you beat the best, you can’t call yourself the best. This is the perfect time to pick off the Short Kings, as right now they might be coexisting. They have shown cracks in the past. We all know brothers fight and have problems. No matter what has happened in the past. Marz and Reid always come together when the lights are the brightest. Can they do it again? Can they put away Zoe Sager‘s new running mates, putting The Lads behind them? Maybe this will be the spark that gets them back into the championship picture?  I have no idea how this match is going to go, but it’s going to be the hardest-hitting match on the card. The Mad Lads, as much as I despise them, are not a team to be messed with. I’m rolling with the Mad Lads to pick up a massive victory here and actually start to make good on their declaration of gold in 2026.

Nick Shostastyk vs Christian Starr

Former LPW scramble champion Nick Shostastyk is taking on Christian Starr, who has made a massive impression in his limited LPW appearances. These are two hungry wrestlers with a lot to prove in LPW, trying to find their way up a stacked LPW ladder. That’s easier said than done.  We look at the card and see Shostastyk & Starr in a singles match.

These guys see this as a shot, a chance to make a massive impression on the biggest show in LPW history. It’s a chance to turn heads and position yourself as “The Next Guy Up,” which isn’t to be taken lightly. Crazier things have happened off of one opportunity. If you look throughout history, LPW rewards people for great showings, win or lose. Starr hasn’t captured gold yet, but you just know he’s close. Shostastyk has and wants to feel that rush again.

A lot hangs in the balance here, potentially championship opportunities. Heck, maybe they dig each other’s styles and become the next challengers to the Tag Titles. The mission is simple – show up and show out! If they do that, their spot at LPW 47 and beyond is certainly a lot clearer.

LPW 46: Savage Love is shaping up to be one of the most historic nights in LPW history. Will we see a first-time Grand Champion? Maybe new Tag Team champions? All titles are on the line, and blood feuds are coming to a head. Bright new stars are on the stage. All I know is it has been an absolutely amazing run the last four years for LPW. I’m so excited to be a small part of what they do every month in Edmonton, Alberta, at the Rec Room. I cannot wait for LPW 47, and we’re not stopping this train. I cannot wait to see you all next month, so make sure you keep it locked here for more from your latest and greatest LPW content creators here at Love Wrestling.
